Why the deer are nervous at SOF....We Have Cougars!

I have always found predators to be fascinating, and especially cougars. I have seen many of these cats on my trail cams on my property through the years. And I will finish with this family of cougars...can you imagine what happens if one of these gets on a deer?

That is a few of the videos I have of cougars there on my property. Every thing I am doing up there is also helping cougars and other predators as well. This year (2025-2026) I have seen very few cougars, and the difference in the deer population is easy to see. In past years when I was seeing many cougars, the deer were obviously nervous while on camera. This year not so much. And, in years past the I would see deer with fawns early, but as I would see the same deer later they would be without their fawns...from predation.

This is simply the normal cycle that wildlife go through, life can be tough for these animals (predators, and prey animals alike). They are simply all trying to survive.

This year the deer have 'won' most still have there fawns, and one doe still has all three fawns she had...so that is good.
